I just bought a 2008 Four Winns SL262, and I came across a button under the seat base. I searched the user manual but couldn't find any details about it. Does anyone have an idea of what this button does or what it's for? I'd really appreciaet any insights

That button under the seat base is likely the battery disconnect switch or a safety cutoff, it's common on boats to prevent battery drain or for maintenance.

Agree about that button under the seat of your 2008 SL262—it's likely a battery disconnect or safety cutoff switch. They usually design these things to help prevent the battery from draining when the boat's not in use.

Have you thought about pressing it to see if it cuts the power to the electronics? Also, take a moment to look for any labels or symbols around it. I'm curious to hear what you discover

Honestly, boats from that era had some quirky features like random buttons or switches that seemed more like Easter eggs than actual controls. Once, I found one that turned on a hidden courtesy light… two days later!

It seems like there might be a concealed safety or power feature here, definitely a good idea to test it out with the electronics on and see if any indicator lights come on when you press it
