Looking at some models lately and leaning toward one with an outboard setup. It's a shift from what I'm used to, but the more I read, the more I'm drawn to the versatility and maintenance ease people talk about with outboards. I'm still weighing things out and trying to picture how it'll fit into my usual routine on the water, launching, cleaning, storage, all that. thoughts, aids n all can come in please, greatly appreciated

Appreciate you breaking that down! It's awesome to hear that the easier maintenance and extra space are such big advantages. I never really considered the size of the swim platform or the fact that the engine is exposed, those are solid points that I'll have to keep in mind.

But I'm curious, how do you feel about the performance of outboard engines when it gets rough out there, or when you're pushing higher speeds? Do they really hold up compared to inboards?
